UR Pride’s Board of Directors announces that Jacq Brasseur, the current Executive Director, will be leaving the organization as of January 31 2021, having accepted an opportunity with Fierté Canada Pride, another 2SLGBTQ+ organization. Effective December 1 2020, Jacq will be working part-time alongside an Assistant Executive Director to facilitate a smooth transition in late January.

Jacq has been with UR Pride in the capacity of Executive Director since May of 2017, and in that time has done much for the organization. Some of the larger projects that have come to fruition during Jacq’s time with UR Pride include the creation of the Monarch Mental Health program, which provides clinical counselling to gender and sexually diverse children, youth, and adults as well as their families and loved ones, and the creation of SPACE, which is a community hub located in downtown Regina.

The Board would like to thank Jacq for all the hard work they’ve put in over the past three and a half years, and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.

The Board will be establishing a search committee which will begin the process of finding a new Executive Director shortly. In the meantime, Emmy Ritenburg, who has led our Community Programs for the past year, will be stepping into the role of Assistant Executive Director, and then Interim Executive Director until a new Executive Director is found. We are confident that this will provide a smooth transition, allowing the Board time to find the best candidate for the position.
