UR Pride Centre

UR Pride will be hosting a Student Meet and Greet on June 6th for high school students to come and check out our centre!

We will also have tables set up in the URSU Board Room (Riddell 225) with information about a whole bunch of local LGBTQ organizations. There will be reps from the Rainbow Wellness Resource Centre, Queen City Pride, TransSask Support Services, Camp Fyrefly and PFLAG! Come and grab some resources for yourselves and your GSA’s. Meet some lovely folks in the community and have some FREE PIZZA!

“The International Day Against Homophobia, held on May 17 every year, is a rallying event offering an opportunity for people to get together and reach out to one another.”  It is also a day to raise awareness and visibility for the LGBTQ community and stand up and fight against homophobia, discrimination and homophobic violence.

Queen City Pride is holding an event in conjunction with International Day Against Homophobia.  Check it out!

Thanks to all of the wonderful folks that attended Positive Space sessions over the fall and winter semesters.  We had our first group to complete all 6 sessions of Positive Space this semester.  We also received some very helpful feedback from participants about how we can make the Network more accessible for students as well as how we can do more outreach.  We will be taking this feedback and revamping the Network over the summer in order to offer more sessions in the fall.  In the meantime, please join our Positive Space Facebook page and network with other folks that have taken some workshops or are interested in doing so!

Day of Pink is this Wednesday!  Day of Pink is the International Day against Bullying, Discrimination, Homophobia and Transphobia in schools and communities. Make sure to wear something pink and show your support!

Make sure to stop by the UR Pride Centre and pick up a pink button!
